Sponsoring Children with no hair

Mission Statement
Our mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by kitting them out with Hair Head Gear that is natural, modern and fun. The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need.

Hair Head Gear HHG is a public non-profit foundation that provides specially designed modern hair systems in the United Kingdom for the under 16 years of age suffering from short or long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using the donations to subside the cost of supplying hair systems created to the highest quality with a natural modern range of hair styles.

HHG provides help for children who have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Jeremy Kyle helps 11 year old with a new hair makeover

Jeremy Kyle surprises 11year old Toni with a Hair Makeover.  After listening to Toni's plight, bullying, unstylable hair and wishing to do some of the same things as her sister and friends do with their own hair, Jeremy Kyle makes it happen!

Toni is an 11 year old girl who since the age of 4 years experienced hair loss of over 70% due to Alopecia.

Her mother asked Jeremy Kyle for help when her daughter kept coming home upset from bullies pulling her wig off and calling her names.

Toni just wanted to be like her sister, she wanted to be able to brush her hair, wash it and style it instead of being called a boy!

Within a few hours we was able to transform Toni's daily experience by applying a new hair system that looked natural, didn't itch, one she could curl, straighten and wash.

Toni Loves her new hair. She is amazed that no one stares at her when she goes out anymore.  In the first two weeks Toni was able to wash her hair for the first time, purchase hair care products such as shampoo and straighteners.

Many of the Hair Head Gear for young people have to be specially made to fit their small head size.  These systems can cost anywhere between £250 - £500.  You donation will help to go towards paying for several of these hair systems that we can then donate to a variety of children throughout the UK and Europe.

Baldness and Vulnerability go hand in hand

Baldness evokes feelings of vulnerability, loss of self-esteem, embarrassment of self-image. Single men and women who had begun losing hair in their early twenties are more likely to suffer from an extremely low self-esteem. They feel less attractive than others by looking older than their actual age. Balding men reported glancing in the mirror constantly and wearing hats even in warm weather.

Many feel self-conscious and worry constantly that others are looking at them. A low self-esteem stems from individual's own perception of what a beautiful body image should be, all due to our society expectation of beauty and power.
